Diagnostics
| Our diagnostics practice takes many forms: operational and organisational reviews, performance analyses, business risk assessments, governance reviews, culture and climate surveys as well as detailed individual event and situation analyses.
Whatever their type, our reviews explore and bring to light the various aspects of the organisation’s business model, and the interplays between such disparate dimensions as business processes, information systems, roles and responsibilities, information flows, resource allocation, performance indicators and others. Using analytical tools we have designed and refined over time as well as more traditional ones, our reviews pinpoint those elements that function well, those that can be made to perform better and those that fail their purpose altogether.
Our diagnostic reviews serve as the platform for extensive performance enhancement and change management programs, as well as integrated process re-engineering and risk mitigation initiatives. They are used for the development of business and system specifications, as well as the recasting of complete business models. Because of their rigour, they have found their place and use in due diligence processes as well as formal investigations. Five attributes characterise our diagnostic exercises:
- The rigour and method of our analyses, which sheds light not only on individual elements of the problem or situation but also on the interdependencies between those elements.
- The comprehensiveness and accuracy of our work, which captures the interplay of ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ data to produce realistic models of operations.
- The quality of our explanatory documentation, known to enhance the comprehension of complex models and situations significantly.
- The unobtrusiveness and sensitivity of our approach, which allows us to work productively in a range of working environments and organisational circumstances. And,
- The pragmatism and effectiveness of our recommendations for change, performance enhancement or problem remediation.
