Benoit Trudeau
Managing Director, Trudeau & Associates
Benoit began his consulting career almost twenty years
ago, initially in Canada before coming to Australia
in the mid-1980s, where he has worked with Arthur Young
and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu prior to founding Trudeau
& Associates in 1991.
He has long concentrated on the three areas that have
become the Firm’s key business streams: the development
of strategy, complex situation analyses, and the enhancement
of business performance through the development and
introduction of better operational and organisational
models.
Benoit has experience in a range of industries – banking
and finance, insurance and funds management; property,
construction and development, including major urban
development projects; mining and related services; and
government – in many different countries and environments,
from Canada and the United States to Japan and Thailand,
Australia and New Zealand, as well as the United Arab
Emirates.
He has dealt with banks like the Commonwealth Bank
of Australia; property fund managers and providers of
corporate real estate services like Colonial First State
Property, insurance companies such as The Prudential
and Zurich Financial Services Australia, as well as
regulators. He has worked with mining companies like
Anglo Coal Australia and Peabody Energy, as well as
rail and port facilities; with entities instrumental
in managing some of Australia’s key urban development
projects, from the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning
to Landcom and the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, as
well as project-specific corporations; and with a range
of government bodies.
Since 2001 when the Firm’s growth began in the United
States, Benoit divides his time between Asia-Pacific
and the United States. He continues to be actively involved
in the conduct of assignments, particularly those that
involve strategy development and the examination of
business models.
