Professional Profile

By the close of 2009, I will have advised directors and senior executives for some twenty years, in long and rewarding associations that have laid the ground for effective interventions and successful change in the private and public sector organisations commissioning assignments from the firm.

My business career began with exposure to large, joint-venture project planning in a diversified Canadian conglomerate. Then, in Sydney from 1985 onwards, that experience was extended and developed through associations with the consulting arms of Arthur Young and Deloitte, where I shaped practices in organisational design and strategy formulation, both of which recognised the importance of integrated, multi-functional perspectives on business.

In 1991 I established Trudeau & Associates as a firm of advisers to boards and management, to apply that expertise in a dedicated way to strategy development, complex situation analyses, performance assessments and the design of change management programmes – concentrations that remain at the heart of the practice to this day.

My work is concerned with the search for insights, whether in the development of practical strategy or in the organisational and operational issues that confront client entities. Once tested for reliability, these insights are used to produce lasting change, whether it pertains to corporate direction, policy and regulatory design, financial outcomes, operational performance, organisation development or the comprehensive management of risk.

The long associations that Trudeau & Associates has with its clients owe much to consistently applied values surrounding independence of thought, intellectual rigor, first-hand observation, attention to detail and a determinedly consultative approach in bringing about change – often using facilitation as an instrument of choice.
